1) Story of Adam and Eve - God created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman who lived in the garden of Eden. They were naked and felt no shame. God told Adam, the first man He created, that can eat from any tree in the garden of Eden except the tree which gives knowledge of good and evil. The devil in the form of a snake persuaded Eve to disobey God and eat fruit from the tree. Eve and gave to Adam to eat. As a result of their disobedience, sin came into the world and they were cast out of the garden of Eden. (Genesis chapters 2 and 3).
2) Jesus forgives a woman caught in the act of adultery - Jesus was in the temple when teachers of the law and Pharisees brought a woman there. She had been caught in adultery. They said that according to the law of Moses, she should be killed with stones because of her sin. But Jesus asked that the person without sin throw the first stone at the woman, whose name wasnât mentioned in the bible. They each dropped their stones and left one by one. Jesus then said to her that He forgives her, doesnât judge her and she should go and not sin again. (John 8: 1 - 11)
3) Jesus feeds the 5000 - A large crowd came to see and listen to Jesus. He felt sorry for them and healed those who were sick. Late that afternoon, Jesusâ disciples said to Jesus that they should send the people away as there wasnât enough food to feed them all. They only had five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus said that they shouldnât send them away, instead, they should bring him the food. He then looked to heaven, thanked God for the food and told His disciples to give the food to the people. The food was multiplied as all the people ate and were satisfied and there were 12 baskets full of leftovers. There were about 5000 men who ate, as well as women and children. (Matthew 14: 13 - 21)
4) Jesus heals the woman with the issue of blood - Jesus was on His way to a manâs house and there was a large crowd following Him. A woman who had been bleeding for 12 years was there. She had spent all her money on doctors but no doctor was able to heal her. The woman came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of his coat. Her bleeding immediately stopped! Then Jesus asked who had touched Him. The woman, whose name wasnât mentioned in the bible, subsequently indicated she did. Jesus said to her that she was healed because she believed and she should go in peace. (Luke 8: 40 - 48)
5) The plagues of Egypt - The plagues of Egypt were ten disasters allowed by God and inflicted on the whole of Egypt in order to force Pharaoh to release the Israelites from their captivity. The 10 plagues included: water to blood, Frogs, Lice, Flies, Pestilence of livestock, Boils on men and animals, Thunderstorm of hail and fire, locusts, darkness for three days and death of firstborn son in Egypt. (Exodus chapters 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11)
6) Parable of the prodigal son - A younger son told his father he wanted his share of his wealth before his father died. His father granted him his request. The son left home to a distant place and wasted all his money on wild living. When his money ran out, he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him and he was sent to feed pigs. The younger son finally came to his senses. He went back home and pleaded with his father to forgive him, which his father did. (Luke 15: 11 - 31)
7) King Solomon judges wisely between two women - Two women came to King Solomon. The two of them argued before the king to who the baby belonged. Then King Solomon sent his servant to get a sword and he said he was going to cut the baby into two so that each woman can half of the baby. The real mother of the child was full of love for her son and told the king not to kill the baby but give him to the other woman. The other woman told the king to cut the baby into two pieces. Then the king said to give the baby to the first woman as she is the real mother. (1st Kings 3: 16 - 28)
8) Zacchaeus climbing up a tree to see Jesus - Zacchaeus was a wealthy and very important tax collector in Jericho. As Jesus was going through the city of Jericho, Zacchaeus wanted to see who Jesus was but he was too short to see above the crowd. He ran ahead to a place where he knew Jesus would come and climbed a tree so he could see Him.
9) The day of Pentecost - On the day of Pentecost, the believers were gathered together, when suddenly a noise came from heaven. It sounded like a strong wind. Then what looked like flames of fire stood over everyone. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages. People made fun of them but Peter stood up with the 11 apostles and spoke with a loud voice to the crowd. (Acts 2: 1 - 42)
10) The story of Naaman - Naaman was a mighty and brave man in the army, who had a harmful skin disease. A little girl who was a servant, convinced him to meet Elisha, the prophet because he could heal him. Naaman went to Elishaâs house. As he stood outside the door, Elisha sent a messenger to tell him to go and wash in the Jordan River seven times, and his skin will be healed. He did just as Elisha said and he became new again. His skin was like a little boy. Naaman was healed! (2nd Kings 5: 1 - 15)
